Athumi and itsme launch digital student certificate with Dibbs

Today, Athumi and itsme mark a new milestone in their joint mission to digitize administrative processes. The groundbreaking solution for the digital student certificate, announced earlier this year, is now a reality. This means that students can now retrieve their student certificate digitally from a secure digital vault and share it with third parties through the itsme app. Dibbs, the popular app for students, is the first to make this innovation accessible to its community.

Faster student job placements

With the integration of the digital student certificate into the Dibbs app, students can safely and efficiently verify their student status with potential employers. This means less paperwork and significant time savings for both students and companies.

Björn De Vidts, CEO of Athumi, emphasizes the importance of secure data exchange:
"Athumi stands for the secure and smart handling of personal data. As a data utility company, we ensure that sensitive and valuable information from individuals and businesses can flow smoothly and securely, while you and I maintain control over what happens with our data. This allows companies to work more efficiently and strengthen digital trust with their customers. We are now delivering on this promise with the digital student certificate case. Thanks to their digital student certificate, students can start working more easily, and employers experience fewer administrative burdens as the certificate is delivered automatically and digitally."

Stephanie De Bruyne, CEO of itsme, highlights the power of digital identity: "With itsme, users can safely manage and share their identity and information, retaining control over what they share and with whom at all times. The integration of the digital student certificate provides a future-proof solution that makes students' lives easier and offers employers a reliable and fast way to verify student status. It's fantastic to see how our collaboration with Athumi is now delivering concrete results for our customers."

Pieter Seyssens, CEO of Dibbs, adds: "At Dibbs, we aim to make life as easy as possible for students. The digital student certificate is a perfect addition to our app. Now, students can prove their student status with just one click and start working faster."

How does it work?

When a student applies for a job via Dibbs, they can give permission with a single click through itsme to share their student status with the potential employer. This information is then securely and reliably retrieved from the Athumi Personal Online Datastore (Pod), using itsme authentication.
